Can you believe it guys, it's Summer!

I have to admit Summer is not my most favourite season, I'm not sure why as I feel it should be but maybe its been dampened by more often enough long, wet, grey British days.

Alas let's not dwell on my doom and gloom as the flower world is simple blinking marvellous this time of year. More British flower than weather for me please!

I've just got to mention some of my favourite Summer smashers at the moment....

  • Peonies! I just simply adore Peonies they have everything, blousy and stunning with the scent to match. Just the picture of perfect summer delights, give me an entire bunch of Peonies and I'm in heaven from the shocking Coral Sunset to the blushing pinks of St Bernhardt, I LOVE THEM!

  • Stocks. Well these have just got to be my close second and I don't mean the sad, sparse varieties you get at the supermarkets but the stunning British grown ones! They certainly bring the fragrance and the country garden feel that us British love. In shades of Whites, Lilacs and Pinks I can't help but put them in the seasonal bunches. Certainly a popular one in the "Kerry's Best of the Bunch".

  • Delphiniums, this flower has a magic power to be the most striking of presence in a bouquet to transforming into a soft companion to compliment any arrangement. This flower is one of the best choices if you love that true blue look! From bright electric blue to the softest of Sky blues they are lush!

  • Dahlias. The beginning of this month has seen more varieties starting to poke their little heads up. Dahlia's will always fascinate me how they can have so many different shapes, textures and colours and a touch of nostalgia as they often took over my Grandfathers garden, where you would find him caring for these beautiful beauties!

  • Hydrangeas. Now if you want a chunk of colour this is the one for you. I love them, such a go to bloom when you want to make a whopper of bouquet to make you go wow! Also they are so adaptable, perfect companion in funeral tributes but also stunning in bridal work. The fresh white tone looks incredible mixed in with Ivory and green, so elegant!

Okay writing this has made me doubt my thoughts on Summer or maybe that's the magic of flowers, who knows?!

Summer now leads me to holidays. Yes, yes, yes I'm so excited to have a family holiday coming up but not only that we will have our best matey's coming too!

We have had this holiday booked since last year and I'm pretty sure we have rearranged 4 or more times now, so with everything going to plan we will finally be getting ourselves that dose of sunshine. Even if the destination changes, the time will remain the same.

So we will be closed from Saturday 17th July to Wednesday 28th July.

Problem with loving your job is you sometimes forget to book that special time off to switch off, laugh, drink, eat and be silly with the ones you love. This holiday will be mine and my Hubby's first full week off this year and we all cant wait, plus a certain little man turns 2!

So don't worry if we go quiet mid month we will be back feeling fresh and happy!

It has to be said, I'm not usually a fan but...

Come on England!!!

Take care folks and see you soon,

Kerry

I'm currently sat outside the studio drinking a good cup of Joe watching the new girls (the rescue Hens for all those who don't follow us!), basking in the sunshine, boys napping and quite frankly I don't want to move. Think I may have found my heaven!

This last month has been a GOOD month, I think not only in my flower world but personally having the new Chicks in the garden has really brought a soul to the studio and along with opening up to you lovely lot from flower collections and wedding appointments there's a new buzz and I love it!!!

This last week has had me on my toes or should I say fingers with all you wedding flower messaging and I'm so excited to now be able to welcome you to the studio for face to face consultations (such a formal word, basically a chin wag about the one subject I could waffle on about for a long time, Weddings!!!!)

Here we go then, Weddings...

It's really interesting this year as all Wedding enquiries I've had everyone is different.

Often most years you'll see a trend and it follows pretty bang on!...but no...this year Brides and Grooms are rocking their own style and tastes and I'm feeling it.

Certainly keeps me on my game!

Weddings are still pretty intimate and petite, often just Bridal flowers, Buttonholes, etc. Which I understand we're still not quite there for the big shindigs yet but won't be long.

Can see a shift in direction already for 2022, so lets see what happens :)

Talking of small Weddings don't be put off getting flowers, they really do make such a huge difference on your Wedding Day! Remaining timeless in your photos for years to come.

So get in touch as I can always make room and time for creating gorgeous bouquets, leave that to me!

Believe it or not...

By the way last month I reached my first whole year as Rock + Wild Florist, May the 13th 2020 after a few too many bubbles on mine and my Hubby's Wedding Anniversary, Beau (the Hubby) sparked the idea of going out on my own and so we sat there creating my logo that very day!

It had been a rough start that day, I received my redundancy letter through the post that morning and I was gutted, I loved my job and the thought of not going back after my maternity leave left me feeling pretty devastated. I know there was definitely more horrendous things happening during the pandemic so I knew I had to buckle up and get focused!

So thats where Rock + Wild Florist' story begins......

.......and well you know the rest!!!!

I will always remain ever so grateful to all of you who have supported me from buying a bunch of flowers, to letting me get creative with your Wedding flowers and trusting me with your flower tributes for loved ones.

Every flower I touch gets the same love and attention each time and I thank you lovely lot for letting me do what I love!

Thank you! I mean that!

Oh by the way keep an eye out for the WEEKLY SPECIALS this month, the flower market is in full seasonal swing and the flower prices are pretty good!!!

Love, Kerry

WOW (I realise I use that word a lot!)

What a crazy, wonderful couple of months it has been. My very first Mother's Day as Rock + Wild and I couldn't have been happier with how it went.

I feel like I was in a magical bubble surrounded with amazing flower and working in my fresh studio was the best feeling ever!!!

Still gob smacked that I had sold out by Tuesday on the Mother's Day week but it was good to know my maximum order numbers, knowing that I can give the perfect amount of attention and love to each and every bouquet, ensuring they were top notch!

So a big mahoosive thank you to everyone who supported me this Mother's Day it's the biggest event in the floristry calendar and I couldn't of done it without you guys. Also lets face it we got to treat our Mum's like the Superstars they are, they are amazing in all they do! My poor Mumma spent Mother's Day being a delivery driver for me, alongside my Dad and Hubby. Without them all I would of been in big trouble. So if your reading this Mum, Dad and Beau you are my shining stars and I love you!

Spring flower is here...

I'm a huge fan of Spring flowers, who isn't?

  • Tulips

  • Iris

  • Hyacinths

  • Anemones

  • Ranunculus

  • Hellebores

The list goes on!

I find Spring flower is the most fragrant flower, all those soft, pretty perfumes just make bouquets 10 x more delicious!

Did you know Spring flowers are often soft stemmed so don't like being crushed into oasis so are always best in water and in mass they are just amazing and lets face it they will do there own thing anyway.

Here at Rock + Wild we've been busy using Spring flowers in our weekly specials too, always choosing the best seasonal flower of the week. Which leads me to our new subscription service (smoothly done there i know!)

Monthly flowers...

On our web shop you are now able to order our weekly special on a monthly basis, choosing either 3 ,6 or 12 month options. Meaning you will get a lush bunch of seasonal flowers every month and the bonus is it's FREE DELIVERY in the local area.

So you can sit back and enjoy those monthly flower fixes. Perfect if you love to have flowers in the house or wanting to send some flowery love as a gift that keeps on giving and only £20 a month! WHAT!

The idea came along when a few customers had requested flowers on a regular basis and they didn't want to faff with calling on each occasion, so BOOM!

Our wonderful web shop already had this monthly subscription option there and means all payments are stored and processed securely. Sometimes you just need a nudge in the right direction hey!

This idea has been perfect for gifting as well. I've made many a wonderful delivery to care homes, work places sending love to those who you can't often see.

Right signing off for now, these flowers won't deliver themselves,

where's Mum when you need her ;-)

Take care folks!

Love Kerry xx
