Writing this blog is most definitely a welcomed distraction and I hope it brings a little relief and excitement to you, as this month we're talking CHRISTMAS!

Admittedly I am sad that one of my favourite seasons is over, Halloween but I am overwhelmed at how amazingly the collection was received by you all. Getting creative with all that vibrant flower and pumpkin lushness was fun, so thanks again guys for all your support and feedback. It really does make my day so much brighter!!!

Right I say bring on Christmas early this year as we are all set for a quiet November, why not put all our efforts into an incredible end to this bizzarre 2020.

I'm happy to say we can remain open and running providing our fresh flower deliveries in a safe way. We are lucky to have a wholesaler who goes to all efforts to provide fresh and varied stock each and every week. I know it's not the case for many friends and businesses and this month will provide hardships for some and my real heartfelt love goes to you guys.

If there is anyway I can help please do let me know, you know where I am!

Christmas...

So let's get on with it and bring it on, Christmas!!!

Hey, some of us will have lots more free time snuggled up in the warm out of the brisk air this month, so that got me thinking DIY wreath kits, yes, yes, yes.

The end of this week I will be working on our Christmas Collection and number one on my list was make your own wreath kits but don't worry you can make it as easy or as hard as you like. The joys of getting down and creative means you can go with your own flow. Along with these DIY kits which will be filled with everything you need, you'll just have to have your own scissors (secateurs will certainly help too) there will be a step by step video showing you exactly what you need to do. Good thing with video you can pause and rewind as many times as you like, no one will mind! Plus this new knowledge can be brought out each and every year, BONUS.

For those of you who don't have the time or like the expert hand we will have plenty of gorgeous wreaths ready to go and made to order!

The Christmas Collection will have plenty of designs to choose from, the traditional tones of reds, greens and golds to the rustic look of cones, oranges, limes, cinnamon and more.

Of course it wouldn't be a Rock + Wild Collection if there wasn't a mash up of all the colours and textures. This one will be the choice for you folks who want people to be wowed by you front door this year!

Along with wreaths there will also be door swags for people who have a sway to the more minimal design or people who just have a little less space.

Table centres to instantly dress up you're Christmas dining spread with candles and more.

Festive Jam Jars and bouquets which will make anyones day this December!!!

Gah writing all this has got me excited, right I'm off to get my Christmas buzz on.

Keep your eyes peeled......THE CHRISTMAS COLLECTION IS COMING.

Stay safe everyone,

Kerry xx

The last summer holiday has been enjoyed and my birthday has been and gone, must mean one thing.....its Autumn!

Autumn and Spring have always been my favourite seasons, watching the changes in nature really is the Bee's knee's. You will certainly see a change in the flower this Autumn season, all those beautiful bronzes, burnt oranges, deep pinks and reds have now taken over and we say goodbye to the summer pastel pinks and lilacs.

Halloween...

These deep vibrant tones are perfect for Autumn events, Halloween, bringing images of Autumnal wreaths and harvest vibes and Pumpkins!!!!

Can't get enough of pumpkins and gourdes in October and the uglier the better I say.

There are so many great local locations to go and pick your own pumpkins and I certainly know me and mini man will definitely be doing are fair share of squelching through muddy fields to find our perfect pumpkin. I wonder if I'll find one big enough to put him in hehe.

Don't forget I know the perfect way to showcase those hand picked pumpkin beauties......flowers.

Unfortunately no big Halloween parties will be happening this year but how about a small dinner party with your floral pumpkin taking centre stage, of course no more than six people we don't want to get in trouble.

We will also be offering our weekly special on Halloween week so keep your eyes peeled for this. No doubt it will be filled with Autumnal lovelies, including my favourite Chinese lanterns.

Autumn Flower...

Autumn flower sees a selection of all the great lasters! They all blend so well together, you can even introduce dried flower to the mix and give it the real harvest vibe.

Alstromeria

Aster

Autumnal Hydrangeas

Chrysanthemums

Erygnium

Leucadendron

Solidago

Veronica

Bespoke Designs...

Ever think you need a little floral (I don't know why but this word still makes me shudder...) decoration in the house, don't forget you can always drop me a message whether its small or large. Fancy an abundant Autumnal wreath on your door, a finishing touch on the mantle piece just give us a shout, I do love a challenge thats for sure!

Right October really is a bustling month and no time to hang around so this month I'll leave it short and sweet or spooky!

See you next in November and well you certainly know what I'll be talking about then, clue it begins with C!

Thanks again my lovelies!

Whats been happening...

August has been a month full of summer lushness, flower quality this month has been out of this world! We have had some mind blowing colours in Dahlias, Delphiniums as big as giraffes and Hydrangeas have been on point!

The summer months are full of the best British flowers and we have been lucky enough to find some great new local suppliers which will make next years delights more exciting.

As Autumn approaches you will certainly see a change in the types of flower coming your way and the most gorgeous colour palettes. I have to admit Autumn is my favourite season, seeing the changes in the trees and all the awesome events up ahead! I'm a sucker for Halloween so no doubt you'll see some fun, strange designs coming up!

How to make the best of your flower...

This month I thought it would be a good idea to tell you the best way to look after your flowers! If your lucky enough to be spoilt with the gift of flowers this is how it goes....

Hand Tied

If your bunch of flowers comes wrapped in paper and the stems are out of water the first thing to do is unwrap your flowers removing all paper and bow, remembering to recycle these!

The bunch will be hand arranged already so no need to untie the bouquet. You will then need to cut at least two centimetres of the bottom of the stems, trying to cut at an angle to ensure the greatest area for the flower to guzzle up the water. Your bouquet will come with flower food attached so make sure to mix this in with the fresh water according to the instructions on the packet. Fill your vase with the premixed water and another tip is to use a vase with a big bottom! Often you see vases that are skinny and tall which can make it difficult for the stems to spread out and create that lovely full look.

Pop your freshly cut bouquet into the vase and boom, beautiful happy flowers!

For maximum lifespan for your flowers change the water every few days, especially as flower food can go a bit cloudy if left too long. Also recut the stems as they can seal over and remove any dead flowers as they can effect the remaining flowers.

Don't be afraid at this point to cut the tie point on your bouquet and separate your flowers out, as you can often make a few vase arrangements out of one bunch!

Aqua Bouquet

If you receive a bunch of flowers sat in a box you don't have to rush as they are sat in there own water bubble. Its a good idea to top up the water in the bubble as we don't fill it to the top as when they travel it could spill, you can do this by simply pouring water slowly down low into the centre of the bouquet with a watering can and make sure you don't overfill!

After a couple of days maximum its best to then remove the flower from its water bubble by taking the bouquet out the box, remember flower food is often popped into the box so save this for later. Remove the outer paper which can be recycled and head to your sink and while holding the bouquet over the sink with one hand, snip the tie point with the other and water will pour out. The cellophane we use is compostable the best way is to cut it into small pieces and pop it in your compost bin.

Then continue with the steps of above with the hand tied!

Right think thats enough talking for this month, hope you've found this useful and you can now show off with your new found knowledge of flower care, you never know when this might come in handy!

Take care my lovelies!!!
